"We spent 2 days with Brett and Steve over our Christmas holiday and they did not disappoint!! We learnt where and how to get some gold. Some skills that we will be using when we get a claim of our own in the near future!! Day 1 we learnt the basics, how to pan and setup a sluice, identifying the best areas to find gold and we had some success!! Day 2 we went to a completely different spot. Using a metal detector and our new found skills of panning we found some great gold! As Steve says “the gold gods were on our side”we look forward to our next trip down South as we’re definitely coming back. These guys are spectacular value for money. Brett and Steve know their stuff and they are very easy to get along with. 2 great days of learning, success and laughs."

"My son and I planned a gold panning trip to the south island and happened upon Steve's ad and thought given our inexperience it would be of value to spend some time with him before heading out on our own. Well that proved to be an understatement. Steve's knowledge and ability to teach on both an adult and children's level was outstanding and great fun. "I spent only 4 hours with Steve but learnt so much in such a small amount of time. He started at the beginning from going through my gear to testing my detector and showing me what sort of geography is best for detecting. We even went out to the field and I happen to find my very first piece of gold with my detector!! He also went through Sluice boxing in the creeks. Steve is a top bloke and great teacher with a wealth of knowledge."
